About the Blog. FinanceIsPersonal.com, which formerly operated under the name Getting Green, is an extension of my personal desire to help other people become better managers of money and the resources they have available. In the last few decades, consumer debt levels have skyrocketed and personal responsibility have taken a back-seat to the culture of instant gratification and apathy towards long term financial consequences. This blog is my small attempt to help reverse that trend by educating others to be savvy and empowered consumers.

About the Author. This blog is created, owned, and edited by Matthew Paulson (me). I’m currently an undergraduate student studying computer science at Dakota State University. I’m originally from Mitchell, SD but have lived in Madison, SD for the last three years. In addition to this blog, I do web-development and software-engineering on a freelance basis and am editor-in-chief of DSU’s own Trojan Times.
