Sorry, Still Not Joining Quixtar.
A couple of weeks ago, I had written an article about my experiences at a Quixtar IBO recruitment meeting. I had made some negative statements about the organization on my blog before, and I decided to do some investigative reporting on the manner to see if what I was hearing was accurate. I did find a pretty high-quality organization, but I still did have my criticisms. They were far too focused on the reward of working extremely hard, rather than the actual work which needs to be done, but they did not makeup any statistics up and use any wild eyed sales numbers to make themselves look good. So I at least give them credit for that.
After a week or so, a number of pro-Quixtar websites noticed the article on the web and had used that to somehow argue that an anti-Quixtar individual had been converted to a person who thought Quixtar was really not that bad of a deal. One website, called “Get the Facts About Quixtar”, stated that I did not join because I had some basic misunderstandings about the organization. Even after being somewhat impressed that they weren’t as terrible as I thought they were, I still have no intentions of joining, and here’s why.
In that article, I stated I would not be joining because the prices of Quixtar products are not competitive in the open market, and that is the case. The pro-Quixtar folks sent me an article telling me why this was a myth. They state that Quixtar products are of the highest quality, so it makes sense that they cost just a little bit more. Even if this is the case, you are still paying for shipping, a commission to the IBO, and a commission to Quixtar. The prices will always be more expensive than something from a big box retailer. They say their products are better, I say they are more expensive. I am perfectly happy with the inexpensive consumables I buy from Wal-Mart, because they save me money. I don’t really care that Quixtar products are slightly higher quality, they’re going to be gone in a month anyway.
The other reason I will not be joining is because I have shame. I had just as well be going down my cell-phone list and asking my friends if they would do manual labor for me. They wouldn’t get any benefit out of it because I told them to do it, but hey, it’d be good for me, right? I think much more of my friends and family than people to be used to move up the corporate latter. These are people that I have relationships and care for deeply. Trying to get them to join Quixtar would just be using them. That’s not something I’m prepared to do.
Finally, I have more profitable business adventures. I am doing very well through my freelance writing and web-work. I might not be in the correct side of the cash-flow quadrant according to some Quixtar IBO’s, but I do actually have some money. So I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing.
