I just opened an account with IGo Banking. I found the experience was quite arduous--it took well over a week to open the account with many phone calls, faxes, and emails. Not nearly as simple or secure (faxing SS card??) as other online banking accounts!

More importantly, I found their customer service to be extremely rude. In fact, I have since closed my account for this reason alone. I would _not_ recommend signing up for an account. The seemingly high interest rate may be tempting, but stick with a known company for your banking!

I just opened an account with iGObanking and was shocked to find out that they limit the amount that you can deposit daily to $2000. There are also Monthly Limits for In/Out transfers. ING and Emigrant do not impose these limits. I was planing to deposit a large sum that I was moving from my EmigrantDirect account. I am now closing my iGObanking account. The Transfer Limits were not disclosed in any of the material I found on their website until after I had already opened the account and attempted to make my large deposit.

There is password encryption! The page http://www.igobanking.com/home/home doesn't have a "lock" icon in IE, but when you enter your username and password, a 128 bit SSL connection is opened to https://www.igobanking.com/onlineserv/HB/Login.cgi. You can test this by putting in a random user id and password. You end up on an error page with a "lock" icon.

According the the rep and her manager that I just talked to at IGo they have always had password encryption. I don't know but it deserves more research now.
