I don't miss a show. I'm a single woman in my mid forties who has done okay - but I get tripped up and discouraged from time to time.
It is her show, and her books that always brings me back to where I need to be. She relates to her audience as if she were talking to family. To me it's like sitting down with an old friend who wants to help me get back on track. Maybe that's her appeal.

She's the best motivational speaker
out there.

Before the most recent election, Orman was commenting on federal taxes, how the US is "under taxed," and that our taxes are likely to go up. On the last point, she suggested that this was the responsible thing to do for a country with the size of our National Debt.

Maybe it's just me, but it's hard to take the advice of a financial and debt counselor that is preaching that her clients, some struggling financially, ought to be taxed more, rather than have the Nation spend less. It shows a lack of any serious understanding of taxes and a free market economy.

I flipped on her show on a while back and she had a woman on with $26k in credit card debt, making something like $30k/yr and she was counseling her on how to reduce spending to pay off that bill... I'm all for paying your debts, but this woman had no chance at financial freedom, ever, if she actually worked toward paying down that debt. From an advice standpoint, she would have been much better served by learning to control her spending then filing for bancruptcy and starting fresh. I can't even imagine how much that woman would spend on interest over the course of paying off that debt,,,
