My boyfriend just joined Quixtar.
I am so afraid. I was skeptical from the beginning, and now that I've done some research and seen articles like this, I just don't know what to do.
I really would like to tell him that this is crazy.. does he even know where all that money for conventions and motivational books and CDs go?? But I feel like I can't because he's just so excited... and his parents have been doing it for a long time. Great.
If we were to get married, which just might be the case, I'm not sure I can live a life knowing that Quixtar might put us in the red. OR that he will be gone a lot of the time to these meetings and conventions... and I won't be going because I certainly don't want to be a part of it.
Is this the typical life of an IBO? Lots of motivational weekend trips and late-night meetings during the week? How do you tell someone, particularly a boyfriend, that you don't support them?

If you have spare time (and who does?) this is an interesting read: http://www.merchantsofdeception.com/

The guy's not the world's best writer, but he tells some interesting stories about his life inside Amway and ends with a commentary on Quixtar.

Quixtar reps are a bunch of brainwashed freakazoids that lie and manipulate their words, while trying to avoid that they are really just Scamway with a new name.

Stay away from them, they are the weirdest bunch of people that you would ever want to associate with. Don't ever invite them to a party or a BBQ with friends or Family, because YOU will never get invited again.

They are the type of person you should run from on first contact.

I would like to tell you that i have lost the love of my life...who is also the father of my one year old son...to freaking quixtar. his father was really into it while we were dating. we were engaged when i got pregnant. when he told his father, his father forced him to join quixtar. mind you we were 18 at the time. he left me less than 3 months later, while i was 6 months pregnant. he comes in and out of our lives, doesn't see our son or pay child support unless he is forced by the CSEA. I can not even tack on his arrears from his quixtar income. I am more than irate about what the farse of a buisness has stolen from my son and I. I have been through hell because of the cult like mentality that forces ibo's to abandon all responsiblity and all contacts that dont support Quixtar

i just think its sad that you keep writing articles criticizing quixtar...i respect your opinion, but if a person is excited about something, who are you to crush their hopes....

some people are successful, while others are not - thats like anything in life

i think quixtar is a great opportunity. you may not, but no one said you had to become an IBO.

Very interesting insight. Lets assume your right about amway/quixtar. What advice do you have to offer about getting out of debt and making more money? Do you suggest working till I'm 70+.

I've run into Quixtar a few times, and admittedly lost two "good" friends because my wife and I wouldn't get involved. I don't get it - but nice to see someone putting so much emphasis on the dark side of it.
