How to Exercise Without Paying for an Expensive Health Club Membership.
A lot of people who make a decision to get fit go out to the nearest health club and sign up for a membership. They go there a couple of times, but after that the money is wasted. They go back into their old habits and remain unhealthy. People think that if they had a place they could go to exercise, they would, but that’s not how it works. If you don’t exercise now, you’re not going to magically want to exercise more because you have a fancy card that let’s you into a building with some equipment. If you make a commitment, don’t go out and get a health club membership, at least not right away.
Chances are you already have everything that you need to get healthy. There’s nothing wrong with a good old fashioned run, that’s a great way to burn some calories. You could also go biking, or even start out walking. You don’t have to pay any additional money for those things. You won’t be sculpting your body, but at this point, that’s not the goal. Your goal is to get into some better shape and if you want to sculpt your body, you can do that later.
If you have cable, there’s always the health and fitness channel. They have hour long shows with things that you can do right in your living room to help get you into shape without having to go to an expensive class. The best part is that you don’t even need to leave your living room.
Should you want to lift weights, I can almost guarantee that someone in your family had the same realization that you did once that they wanted to lose some weight and went out and bought a Bowflex home gym and then didn’t use it a month after it came. If not, one of your neighbors did, it’s probably just sitting there collecting dust. They would get rid of it if the thing weren’t so darn heavy. If you came over there with $200 in cash, I bet you could get a lot of people to separate with their home gym equipment.
If you don’t have such an option available to you, you should consider going down to your city’s recreation or community center. They go by different names, but usually you can get a day pass for just a couple of dollars, and go in once or twice a week and do the machines that you can’t do at home. It’s going to cost you a lot less than entering into a contract with a health club, that’s for sure.
There are plenty of great options to help you get in shape without having to fork over money for a fancy membership somewhere. Statistically, you’re not going to make good use of it anyway, so don’t bother buying it.
