This Week in Personal Finance #3: Vernal Equinox Edition
This Week in Personal Finance is a collection of particularly insightful and unique articles from personal finance websites around the web.
Last Thursday was the first official day of spring, and just in a matter of three weeks we went from an icey-tundra of impassable roads to 70 degree weather, but that’s South Dakota for you! Oh well, another weekend has come and gone, and it’s Monday once again.
Consider reading some of these great personal finance articles on other financial blogs:
Bankdeals.blogspot.com is one of the most underappreciated financial websites on the net. “Banking Guy” painstakingly looks for new account signup bonuses, changing interest rates, and great deals on certificates of deposit and other savings, each and every week. It’s not an exciting task, but Banking Guy does a great job at keeping his readers apprised of the latest and greatest deals when it comes to banking.
I’ve always thought of Clever Dude as one of the more interesting personal finance bloggers. People have written articles on ways to save money all over in the house, but only he would offer ideas how to save money while in the bathroom.
Punny Money must have spent a lot of time writing last week. He wrote an article with excellent explanations to figure out how wealthy you really are based on your income, savings rate, and rate of return. Be sure to check out his post entitled “Your Total Measure of Wealth”
Silicon Valley Girl wrote an excellent article that every new investor should read before putting a dollar into the market or any other investment. Be sure to read “5 Tips for Creating a Solid Investment Plan.”
Another great article on investing this week was written over at Investor Trip. Most of us know that the Roth IRA is a great account if its available to you, but a lot of people don’t do enough research on the brokerage that they open their Roth IRA with. Investor Trip does a great job of looking at which brokerage is the best place to open your Roth at, in a post entitled “Which Roth IRA Account is Best For Your Retirement?”
