If you're in a Virgin Wireless service area, they have an .18/min plan where you have to buy $20 every 3 months.

Also, they now have a service where you can sign up to receive ads (or sign up your friends) to get free time.

$7 a month ain't too shabby!

Dan

You should check out T-Mobile. They have a better prepaid deal. Their rate is only 10 cents a minute. If you buy a 1000 minutes for $100 you don't have to refill for a year. I have a post about it on my blog.

One of my all time unanswered questions is - Why is America the only country where Cell Phone contracts are abound.

Take India where I am from or for that matter UK (where I have lived for a year). The Cell phone plans out in these countries are cheap, connections are crystal clear (I am talking about the better providers out there) and to top that there are no contracts.

Charges are levied only for the minutes used and there is a very nominal service charge which is monthly.

Corporate bureaucracy has left America at this position, I guess.

Thanks and Regards
Harshal Vaidya
Get reviews of H1B consultants at :
http://www.goolti.com
