My own family has always had cable, and can't seem to live without it. There's always 1 or 2 TVs on in the house where my gram, mom, dad, sister and her 2 small children live, and everyone jumps when I shut off the TV during dinner.<br/><br/>I haven't had more than the most basic cable (network channels) for about 4 years now. Although I still miss Travel, Food Network and Discover, I still have more than enough to watch on network TV. Actually, I still wish I could unglue my eyes from the tube enough to get more physically active. I definitely agree with you. My own family has always had cable, and can’t seem to live without it. Having cable just allows me to watch more TV than I should. There are enough shows on network TV to allow me several hours of TV watching each week.
