Save 40% on Clothing By Shopping at the Right Time.
There’s a percentage of the population who absolutely enjoys going out to the mall or a series of retail stores to try on clothing, figure out what looks good on them, and take a few articles home with them. These are people who actually have a sense of fashion, so whenever a new season of clothing is out, they have to hit up their favorite clothing stores. God knows that I’m not one of these people. I usually only buy clothes when my existing wardrobe becomes so worn out and tattered that almost anyone would be embarrassed to wear it in public. If you are a person who enjoys shopping for clothes on a regular basis, you might consider this great money saving tip on clothes.
Most clothing stores get clothing for new seasons about two months before the season actually hits. You’ll see new spring clothes in February, Summer clothes in April, Fall clothes in August, and Winter clothes in October. Clothing is at its most expensive price when it first comes out for a new season. That’s when most fashion-savvy people go out and buy clothes for the new season, so it makes sense that the stores will make clothing cost more when they have plenty of time to get rid of it and most people are buying it.
The good news for frugal people like myself is that whenever a store wants to roll out a new season of clothing, it has to get rid of its old season of clothing first. Quite often stores will deeply discount their current season of clothing to make room for their next season of clothing. About one month before a new season is expected to come out, you’ll be able to find deals of 30% or 40% off on clothing! Retailers get a pretty decent markup on the things they sell for full price, so they can unload their existing inventory at cost and be okay.
So instead of buying clothing when the season first comes out, buy it about a month before the new season comes out. For example, summer clothes are usually the cheapest in July, and in some parts of the country, there’s still going to be a lot of summer left during this part of the year. You’ll be using your clothes the same amount of time, but you just won’t have brand new clothes at the beginning of each season. For a 30% or 40% discount, I can handle that.
