		<description>Although I wholeheartedly agree with unplugging appliances while not in use, I&#039;d like to provide a counterpoint:&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Appliances like VCRs and Tivo&#039;s need to stay plugged in to keep the time. If you unplug them, you have to go through a the whole process of setting the time to record something. With TVs, you need to reprogram in the channels each time you turn it back on (right?). Same goes for FM stereos and their programmed stations.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Granted, we could easily unplug appliances like toasters, coffee makers (unless you use the timer), microwaves, and anything else that doesn&#039;t keep programmed settings.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Maybe the best approach for us is to stop watching TV. With my schedule getting more full, it&#039;s becoming a reality, but my wife &quot;NEEDS&quot; her weekly dose of House.</description>
