I had a really hard time getting health insurance. Ultimately, a friend just recommended that I go through a broker. There is no harm in going through a broker, it can only help. Sometimes they can find you risk pools, like they did for me, Medicare, or other options. There are even a lot of options that you can do online. I went through Health Plan One and I recommend it

I read your posting about NOT giving up when your insurance claim is denied. I agree wholeheartedly with you.

The thing that bothers me most, though, is that, while insurance companies always accept our premiums, they so readily and routinely DENY us any coverage when something goes really wrong and we need their help the most.

I recently interviewed Lee Einer, the man Michael Moore referred to as the “hitman" in SiCKO. In the movie, it was Lee who said, “You’re not slipping through the cracks. Somebody made that crack and swept you towards it. And the intent is to maximize profits.”

In his audio interview with me that is posted on HonestMedicine.com, Lee Einer tells lots of insurance company "secrets" that he didn't get to tell in SiCKO.

I think Lee's message is that insurance companies simply deny any claim they don't want to pay. Knowing this, I believe that the only answer is universal healthcare.

I hope you will find my interview with the "hitman" to be informative.

Thanks much!
Julia Schopick
www.HonestMedicine.com
