Why Going Bald Will Save You Time and Money
Although I’m quite young, it’s painfully obvious that my hairline is receding and it’s probably not going to be moving forward anytime soon. Chances are there’ll be nothing but skin up there in a couple of decades, but that’s okay. Being bald is nothing to be ashamed of, in fact it will save you a lot of time in hair maintenance and money along with it. Follow me on this one.
First, if you’re going to be bald, just accept it. Don’t try to cover up your baldness with a comb over and try to make it look like you’ve still got some hair to speak of. It’s not fooling anyone. Don’t pay for fancy hair restoration treatments or for a wig, it’s just not worth the money. You might have some success with those plans, but they’re very expensive and it’s really not that big of a deal to be bald.
Being bald will also save you quite a bit of time in hair grooming. You won’t have to comb your hair in the morning, shampoo it thoroughly, go to the barber, or check it on a windy day. If you were to save a mere 10 minutes a day in taking care of your hair, that’s 2.5 days throughout the entire year that you’re saving.
There are a number of favorable financial implications as well. You can cut whatever hair does grow yourself with a razor or some electric clippers. Free is a lot better than paying $10 or $20 a month for a fancy haircut. If you go to the barber every month at $14 a pop, that’s $168 over the course of the year you’re saving. You’re also never going to have to buy a comb, a brush, a hair pick, a hair dryer, or shampoo again. That could easily be another $50 a year. It’s not a ton of money, but I’d still take it!
Being bald is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Most people see going bald as a sad inevitability because of their genetics. It’s going to happen either way, so there’s no reason to get down about it. Be an optimist and consider all of the previously un-thought of benefits of going bald. You’ll save quite a bit of time in maintaining what’s left of your hair, and you’ll also save quite a bit of money in haircuts, and hair maintenance products.
