At one point, they charged me $30 for the "privilege" of receiving a certified letter from their board. They've ragged on me for letting my grass grow (never really overgrown, just 2 weeks instead of 1 between mowing),leaving my lawn sprinkler out, having a bench and table on my front lawn <i>without having paid them $10 to look at my application to have those</i>, and the best yet, posing a "danger to a child riding his bike" under my crape myrtle trees. Yeah. A branch <i>might</i> fall on a kid as he rides underneath. A friend who was unemployed is being threatened by this same bunch for failure to pay his HOA dues; they have refused to work with him to pay this off in installments now that he is employed again. What is the message here? "It's not the money, it's the power we want to wield over you"? I live in an HOA & I KNOW people who just go around writing their neighbors up, BECAUSE these people dont have anything better to do with their lives & just harass other people. HOA’s bring out the Nazis who just want to police others.
