Get DSL for $10 a month from AT&T
Bellsouth and AT&T recently completed one of the largest telecommunications mergers in corporate history making many consumers wonder if the day of the big bell is about to return. As part of the agreement with the government to allow this merger to go through, AT&T had to make some concessions to ensure that they would not practice any monopolistic behaviors. One of these concessions was that they had to offer inexpensive DSL service for the next 36 months, creating one of the best prices for DSL out on the market.
If you live in one of the 22 states that AT&T and the former Bell South are located in and are not currently an existing AT&T customer, you can qualify for a DSL package that will only cost you $10.00 a month! You’ll be able to get high-speed internet service for what most people pay for dial-up services. You’ll only get the $10.00 a month service if you also sign-up for a new phone line, if you want “naked DSL,” which means you want to purchase the DSL, but not purchase the phone line, you can get that for $20.00 under the deal.
AT&T has been dragging their heels and making it a bit difficult for consumers to get the deal. Since the company was outted for doing this and reported to the FCC, AT&T has since cleaned up their act. They now provide detailed information on their website as to who can sign up for the deal and how to sign up for it. If you still have trouble getting the deal, call AT&T/Bellsouth’s customer service line and they have stated they will tell you exactly what you need to do to sign up for the deal.
Any way you put it, it’s a great deal for consumers who live in the 22 states that AT&T and Bellsouth operate in. If you’ve already got a phone line and are happy with it, $10 a month is next to nothing for high-speed service that we were paying $50 or $60 a month for just a decade ago.
