Moving? Stay Away from U-Haul
Moving is one of the most emotionally and physically taxing experiences that we can have. We have to up-root our entire lives from one part of the country to another, often leaving friends and family behind. We have to find a way to move our collection of possessions that we’ve been amassing for decades. We have to find a new set of friends and a new niche in society in the location that we move to. Sometimes, it can just be overwhelming. The last thing you need is for your moving van to break down, potentially endangering your life! For this very reason, you should avoid using a U-Haul vehicle whenever you need to move.
U-Haul has had a number of safety issues in their vehicle fleet that have actually put people’s lives at risk. The LA Times recently reported that U-Haul has had a major lack of proper safety checks and maintenance for years. In addition, their vehicle fleet is a lot older than some of their competitors, so their vehicles just aren’t as reliable. The Times also reported that many people have been seriously injured because the U-Haul fleet has not been well maintained!
If you’re planning on moving, look at one of U-Haul’s competitors. Make sure you’re getting a newer vehicle that’s in good shape regardless of where you rent from. The last thing you need is to have a vehicle break down or worse yet, an injury because the vehicle you are renting broke down and caused you to get into an accident
