Interseting observations. It may interest you to know that my political views are very libertarian and I feel absolutely no legal obligation to be a giver, but rather I give because I want this world to be a better place. I think everyone -should- be generous givers, but I definitely do not believe that people should be forced to give to support other people.

I would challenge you to think about why you feel the need to give money to charity. Too many people give money because they think it's the right thing to do. "You need to help the less fortunate" is the line I hear the most. I personally always had an aversion to this line of thinking. If people would work hard they would have their money. If we, as US citizens, would stop believing that our standard of living is the right way to live then other countries wouldn't be "Third World." Honestly, consider the economics of a "Third World" country and consider that $5 a week is equivalent to a very good wage here in the US.

All I say is don't give unless you personally feel the need, and even then, examine why you are giving money and to whom. Consider that your views are colored by the Socialist mindset that this country is progressing down.
