The above post seems suspicious to me and I would caution anyone tempted to contribute to "Richard's" trip to check this out further. His picture, although blurred, does not seem to be of a boy as young as 14. If you go to the site and read his blog it really doesn't sound like the writing of a 14 year old. Also, notice there are no specifics about church name, town, actual dates, etc. Nothing you could check out. I'm raising money for a trip myself and know how sweet people who want to help others could be easily led astray.

Amen. I'm heading on a mission trip to inner-city LA in March. We're raffling off a goat as one of our fundraisers. The idea is that we give tickets to our friends and family whether they want them or not, and then make them pay $10.00 for "insurance" which will make sure they don't get into the contest!

Holding creative fund raisers is particularly challenging yet rewarding as well. A successful fund raiser gets a lot of people involved. People who are in on the project and people are targets of the said fund raiser. A creative fund raiser can not only raise enough money for a cause but it can also help make the said cause more significant in people's lives.
