I ran a system similar to this when my kids were smaller. With their points, they purchased t.v. time, outside play time, after-school snacks, "stay-up-late" passes, phone time, etc. - I found they were much more willing to clean their room if they had to "buy" t.v. time, rather than sitting in front of the t.v. telling me they'd clean their room later when their shows were over. It became worth it to tidy the bathroom if it meant they could chat on the phone for 1/2 an hour afterward. My kids are much older now, and I'm not in the position right now to monitor certain things. But when they were smaller, this plan was golden for us and it worked incredibly well! Great suggestions you've offered here!

My brother runs something similar with his 4 year old and although his boy is still a bit wild there has been noted improvement in his overall behaviour since the introduction of the rewards chart.
