I find tip #1 is the most helpful. If on occasion I really stock up and spend $250 or more, we can usually skip a full week of shopping by only spending about $50-75 dollars more in a week. Plus it save you the hassle factor.

We don’t have space for an extra freezer or fridge, but that would really help.

I freeze butter, margarine, cheese and bread products until needed.

Now, on this “store hopping” concept. Keep in mind that commercial stores usually are bunched up together because of zoning laws or the stores wanting to site on busy streets.

Now, make a list of which stores are near each other – in my city, CVS and Kroger are across the street from each other; Walgreens and Rite Aid are at another corner; and Meijer, Wal-Mart, Staples and Lowe’s are all in the same neighborhood.

Then plan errands accordingly. If I like what’s in the Kroger flier that week, I’ll look to see if there is anything of interest in the CVS flier so I can make one trip to that part of town.
