8 Websites You May Not Know About – But Should

With thousands of new websites launching every day, it’s not possible to know everything that’s out there. Many of us get used to visiting the same few sites regularly, and may be missing out on some other sites we’d really enjoy. Here is a list of 8 websites you may not know about, but should because they are useful or just plain entertaining!
- Collectorz Software for people with lots of books! If you collect books, eventually you have so many it can be difficult to know exactly what you have. Collectorz software lets you catalog them and keep track of them easily. Great for personal use, but would also work well for churches or community centers that keep and lend books like small libraries. There are related products that will let you track your music, movies, games, photos and comics, too.
- AJC Feed offers a live video broadcast once per week where a multi-millionaire shares his experiences and answers questions from web visitors via the live chat happening simultaneously.
- Stock Simulator offered by Investopedia.com, works a lot like a fantasy football league. You can create your account and try your luck (pretending) to invest in various stocks. Most people claim they know nothing about how the stock market works and are too intimidated to put their money into the market with their limited knowledge – a fantasy stock market might help teach people more about it in a safe environment.
- TalkMarket You ever watch the Home Shopping Network, or any of those shopping channels on television? Well, now you can create your own and sell whatever you want with this site. Or- if you don’t have anything to sell, just watch for pure entertainment.
- Wonderful Web Women great site for anyone who wants to make money online. The site host (Janet Beckers) interviews successful women and/or couples who have found ways to market their products and services online. Don’t let the name fool you, the site offers just as much to men as it does to women.
- The Literature Network Here’s a site that allows you to read books online for free. Search by author name, read their biography and click to read each chapter of your chosen book right on your computer monitor.
- Pandora Radio Free internet radio that lets you create customized stations to play the music you want to hear. You can also share your music stations with other Pandora listeners, or play someone else’s station to try and discover new music. My favorite feature is the “quick mix” – once you set up radio stations you like, hit quick mix to rotate and play songs from each.
- Howcast Similar to ehow.com in that users upload content that instructs others how to do something; Howcast offers instructional videos from site users. Watch videos and learn how to do something new; or create and upload your own instructional videos.
What websites do you like that you think other people should know about?
