Earn Rewards Points with Prepaid Credit Cards
October 16, 2008 By Debbie Dragon
If you’re the type of person to use prepaid credit cards instead of a traditional credit card (whether it’s due to a less than perfect credit history or because you want to avoid temptation to overspend), you might be happy to discover that Citi is now offering their ThankYou Network rewards program as part of their prepaid card services.
The prepaid credit cards that are part of the rewards program are avialable in three denominations - $25, $50 and $100 –and you can use them everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. They also feature Visa’s “Zero Liability” protection against fraudulent charges, just like any other credit card would.
Rewards points earned with your Citi prepaid credit cards can be used for what you want - going out to dinner, movies, or groceries for example. ThankYou Network members may select a card embossed with their name or they may elect to give the card as a gift and personalize it with the name of the gift recipient. Cards designated as gifts will be delivered directly to the recipient with a note identifying the sender.
