Inexpensive & Easy Shrimp Delish Dish
Eating a great shrimp dish out at a restaurant can cost you anywhere upwards
of $12 so many people don’t think about preparing shrimp dishes at home due to the time and expense. But my family makes an awesome shrimp dish that no only is inexpensive, it also can last for more than one meal for three people. Since we no longer go out to eat, we have found this dish to be a great substitute.
All you need is:
1 bag of frozen medium sized shrimp (around $6.99 for a pound)
1 box of Pasta Roni (we prefer Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli) (less than $2.00)
Parmesan cheese
Lemon Juice
Just allow the shrimp to thaw. You can do this quickly by putting frozen shrimp into a collander and run cool water over them for a few minutes. You will likely not need to use all of the shrimp. We usually get three meals out of a 16 oz. bag. If you get jumbo shrimp, you can halve the shrimp to get even more. Don’t forget to pull off the tails if necessary.
Prepare the Pasta Roni per the instructions on the box. As it begins to cook, add the shrimp pieces and cook until pasta in done. Add as much shrimp as you like.
Allow it to sit for a few minutes to let the sauce thicken.
I do not add the parmesan cheese or lemon juice until the food is on my plate, as my husband does not like the lemon juice. Typically, we buy three boxes of the Pasta Roni at a time because it is an easy meal to make that tastes incredibly good. There are never leftovers. My 6 year old would never even look at a shrimp until we started making this meal.
