Had it not been for your venture on the train – I would have never considered this mode of transportation for a fun weekend trip with family. We are considering a trip to Niagra falls and what a better way to see the sights than by train.

My oldest son lives in Pennsylvania, and has taken the train home to Iowa several times.
He usually saves 50 percent off what a plane ticket would cost.
Plus feels more confident his luggage will arrive with him to his destination.
These days you almost got to save a buck wherever you can!

My wife took a train from Raleigh, NC to Kissimmee, FL. I think the ticket was right at $100. The drive is usually 10 hours all stops included. The train ride was around 13 hours. Her biggest complaint was the cramped seating. I think next time I will look into business class seating. Have you ever tried the overnight compartments with the bed? I wonder if they are worth it.
