Carnival of Personal Finance #206 The Memorial Day Stars and Stripes Edition
Did you happen to see the Nascar race on Monday? In honor of our armed services, the entire race was stopped at 3pm. All Nascar cars pulled into a straight line around the track, turned off their engines, while the pit crews lined up around the edge of the track, hats in hand – and participated in a moment of silence with the fans in the stand, on TV, and with the rest of the country as requested by President Obama. Was a sight to see, that’s for sure!
This week’s Carnival of Personal Finance is hosted by Greener Pastures (and next week at Funny About Money). Greener Pastures took hold of the Memorial Day theme and even included a cute video in their carnival post that you should go check out.
Here are a few posts from this week’s submissions I liked:
- SpendOnLife.com presents Twitter Name Game, and says, “Seemingly innocuous, the game will gather things like your mother’s maiden name, the street where you grew up, and your first pet’s name and spit out a “porn name. But is it more than a game?”
- Super Saver from My Wealth Builder presents My Epiphany about being Self Employed
- Madison from My Dollar Plan presents 11 Ways to Save Money This Month
- Tisha Tolar from Leave Debt Behind presents Top 10 Tips to Help You Save Money.
- Matt Paulson from Fine Tuned Finances presents How Much House Can You Afford?.
