There are good deals available for rental cars, hotels, etc., as these businesses are concerned about the effects of the recession. Also if you have frequent flyer air miles, it can be a good time to use them. My airline has been making their use easier, with less restrictions. Planning and budgeting definitely help! It is funny how we don't realize when we spend, but once you start tracking your expenses you actually see how much you are spending and if you can afford it.
